They consist of four worm screw extruders, equipped with an external casing composed of interchangeable ring modules in hardened steel. Each extruder is completely modular, allowing for the quick and cost-effective identification and replacement of any damaged components. // The main parts subject to wear are the front section for pelleting and the thrust bearings. The machine has been optimized over time to maximize sunflower seed extraction yield and minimize component wear. The configuration of the casing rings is modifiable, allowing the machine to be adapted to the processing of other oilseeds (in our case: flax, safflower, almond, and hazelnut). // The tank known as the "pelletizer" is an insulated and heated vessel equipped with a low-speed agitation system, designed to maintain the product homogeneous in terms of both temperature (approximately 37°C) and sediment suspension during the subsequent stages of the process. It also functions as a buffer between the extraction machines and the decanter. // The decanter is a Pieralisi Baby 2 model (produced in 2010), with modified drum and scrapers to optimize the processing of the sunflower oil. // The centrifuge, also a Pieralisi model, has been customized with its separator discs to ensure more efficient separation of the sunflower oil. // The system, consisting of the decanter and centrifuge, has a production capacity sufficient to support the addition of one and a half pressing machines (equivalent to an additional six single extruders), ensuring an optimal balance between product quantity and quality. // The filter is a Della Toffola cardboard filter, equipped with plastic inserts and gaskets suitable for contact with edible oils. The filtration capacity under optimal conditions is approximately 1500 L/h of sunflower oil. // The cleaning screen consists of a system of sieves sized to clean sunflower seeds, with a full-scale production capacity of approximately 3600 kg/h. // Finally, the machine positioned near the filter is a hand-built deodorizer, never used, with a steady-state operating capacity of approximately 500 L/h of treated oil.
